Neuro oncology is the study of brain and spinal cord neoplasms, many of which are dangerous and life-threatening. In cases namely, malignant brain cancers, gliomas of the brainstem and pons, glioblastoma multiforme and high-grade astrocytoma, negligence in providing treatment results in a drop in survival rate.

The treatment for neurological cancer is based on various factors such as a patient’s health and medical history; location, type and size of tumour and other individual factors. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or experimental therapies may be used in the treatment of cancers related to the brain.
