Lung lobectomy

A lobectomy is a surgical procedure involving removing one lobe of a lung. A lobectomy may be performed when a cancer is discovered in just a portion of a lung. After the damaged lobe is removed, the healthy lung tissue that is still present can function normally.

Pneumonectomy

The surgical removal of the entire lung is called a pneumonectomy. Common indication of doing this procedure is cancer in or near the main bronchus of either sides of lung.
